Naked Smoothies ‘Be A Rainbow Machine’ campaign kicked off in an eye-catching way, with ‘Made in Chelsea’ TV celebrity Ollie Locke posing on a rainbow of fruit and veg. Style Department were proud to be asked to collaborate on the project, where 10p from every bottle of Naked Rainbow Machine smoothie sold in June and July was donated to LGBTQ+ charity Stonewall (with Naked donating up to £40,000).

Style Department Production put the entire shoot together, from supplying the food team, the set builders, along with hair & make-up for the talent to sourcing and booking a very high-celinged studio (The Worx) for the bird’s-eye view shots. We also did the recce for the studio logistics space for photographing equipment, oversaw the overall budget, coordinated catering, and ensured production paperwork and insurances were delivered.

The shoot also took place in exemplary COVID-safe conditions.Style Department’s founder Rosana McPhee is a certified COVID-19 officer,and very experienced in the coordination of testing, as well as providing PPE and clearances.

Style Department was honoured to work on a campaign that celebrates inclusion and supports the LGBTQ+ community. Recyclable packaging was also used wherever possible, and any unused fruit boxes and any unaltered fruits were donated to the Fareshare charity.

Our food stylist Lola Faura (@LolaFoodStylist) gave us a little glimpse behind the scenes of the shoot:

“The most incredible and craziest job I’ve done so far is without a doubt this one for @nakedjuiceuk !

There’s a world of teamwork behind each image, so thought I’d share a bit of the process behind this one from:

👉🏻Sketching some designs (excuse my PowerPoint skills😂) – the design chosen was the one that mimicked the brand’s packaging, and the fruits used were the ones that are used within the Naked juices🍎

👉🏻Testing all adhesives that would be skin friendly and allow us to stick the fruit on the wonderful @ollielockeworld . We also made underwear completely covered with fruit that would enable us to easily cover most of the area🙃, leaving the adhesives for the scattered fruits ✨

👉🏻Calculating surface areas & quantities of fruit needed – 444 🍌 to be exact 😅. The amazing @cloudandhorse created platforms for each of the fruits to lay on, so that they would all be at the same height leve,l thus beautifully catching the light.

👉🏻And of course the team, without which this couldn’t have been possible!! @liviaabraham queen of the Naked logo (yes each blueberry was glued individually!!). @jess_e_mcintosh & @mandythompsonfood who perfectly cut over 2000 slices of kiwis & beetroot!! And the wonderful @style_department & @splendidcommunications team who helped us with moving all the boxes and arranging the fruit in record time!!
