The UK plant-based protein bar market just got a delicious upgrade, and it’s not just the bars themselves turning heads — it’s also the stunning visuals behind them. For the launch of Misfits’ new and indulgent range of high-protein, low-sugar bars, renowned food stylist Alice Ostan teamed up with food photographer Nadia June to bring these vegan-friendly treats to life.
A Glow-Up for Misfits Protein Bars
Misfits have refreshed their UK plant-based protein bar range, introducing several new softer, more indulgent flavours while keeping them high in protein and low in sugar. The new lineup includes:
- Chocolate Cookie Dough – soft-baked with vanilla notes and high-protein chocolate crispies.
- Caramel Fudge – a gooey, candy-bar style bar boasting ~15g protein and only ~1g sugar.
- Caramel Popcorn – sweet-and-salty with a crunchy-yet-soft texture in a 50g bar.
- Cookie Butter (Speculoos) – a cozy, spiced biscuit-inspired flavour.
- Mint Choc Chip – a refreshing mint twist, also in a 50g bar.
- Classic favourites like Peanut Butter Fudge and Brownie Batter continue to delight fans.
All bars are vegan-friendly, dairy-free, and in some cases high-fibre and low-carb, appealing to health-conscious snackers who refuse to compromise on taste.
The Art of Food Styling
Enter Alice Ostan, whose expertise in food styling for editorial, advertising, and social media elevated these bars from delicious to visually irresistible. Her role was crucial: every angle, texture, and prop was meticulously arranged to capture the softness, gooey indulgence, and playful textures of the new Misfits flavours. From highlighting the melt-in-your-mouth chocolate chip crispies to showcasing the gooey caramel folds, Alice transformed the bars into photography-ready masterpieces.
Capturing the Perfect Shot

Behind the camera, Nadia June brought Alice’s styling to life with her keen eye for lighting, composition, and mood, producing images that truly showcase the bars’ indulgent textures and vibrant flavours. Together, the stylist and photographer created a visual story that not only highlights the product but also invites consumers to experience the taste through imagery — a crucial element in today’s digital-first marketing world.
